Love for coffee never ends. Iced coffee or mocha lattes are special treats for summer. Whether it’s sunny or gloomy coffee just jump-starts my day.
Getting different kinds of coffee beans and grinding them at home for that in house experience of coffee grinding and enjoying that fresh aroma of coffee powder, before even making coffee is right up there as one of my favorite activities.
When it’s summer I swap my usual afternoon mug of hot coffee or tea for a refreshing glass of iced coffee. Instead of running to the coffee shop to get my iced coffee this summer, I learned how to make the best-brewed coffee at home. The homemade version is most desirable taste-wise and money-wise.

How to make espresso ?
I use a coffee machine or this beautiful little Moka pot to brew espresso. Using a Moka Pot is a really inexpensive way of making espresso at home.
I have been using Zulay’s beautiful Moka pot for a couple of days now, I must tell you it’s amazing. Making espresso at home is super easy using this pot. Follow the instructions given in the box to make it. Trash the first few batches of the espresso before to get the best out of this Moka pot.
The aroma of coffee brewing was so good that my husband who was sitting in another room for hours got out asking for coffee, and yes I used the same ground coffee that I use in my coffee machine and never knew it had this wonderful aroma until I used it in the Moka pot.

Method:
Espresso using Moka Pot – Add 1 cup of water to the bottom chamber of the pot, and 2 tbsp ground coffee powder on the funnel, place the pot on the stove and bring the water to boil. Coffee starts to percolate on the top of the pot. Turn off the flame and set aside. I used the lowest temperature setting for boiling water.
Make Simple Syrup –Make a simple syrup using 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup sugar. (leftover can be stored in the refrigerator)
Allow espresso to cool before you make Iced coffee. The best way to do this is to brew the coffee the night before to allow it to cool down completely.
Fill the glass with Ice (half or full is your preference). Pour chocolate syrup, approximately 1 tbsp. This is an optional step.
Next, add 3 tbsp espresso and 3 tbsp simple syrup. Top the glass with chilled milk of your choice. I used 2 percent milk. Serve immediately. 3 tbsp of the espresso is sufficient in the recipe because it is thick. Add more espresso if needed
