Chia Oatmeal Breakfast Bowl – packed with nutrients and loaded with goodness. Sounds like something you would like to have for breakfast? I would definitely do it!!
It’s always a struggle to decide on breakfast. Gone are those days when I could just grab a toast or coffee and head out in the morning. Motherhood changes you, they say. In my case, it has forced me to cook breakfast without fail. Having grown up in Southern India, the first thing that comes to my mind for breakfast is – Dosas or Idli or Paddu. These are really good wholesome breakfast options.
Still, on a busy weekday or on a stressful morning, we need something that can be whipped up instantly, yet being nutritious and wholesome.
There comes oats to help you out! Such a reliable option always. Be it an overnight-soaked oatmeal grab-n-go breakfast or a warm comforting bowl to relish on a cold morning (Like today!), Oats is one of our go-to option. Or I could just pick Poha or Upma 😋
However, I decided to make hot oatmeal today with overnight-soaked chia seeds. Normally, I would soak oats and chia together overnight. But I look for warm breakfast usually in winters.

This breakfast bowl is packed with nutrients – all good stuff, and it keeps you energised.
How to make Chia Oatmeal Breakfast Bowl ?
Rolled oats, chia seeds is the base of the breakfast bowl. Chia seeds add no flavor, but an amazing texture when soaked in liquids. Soaked chia seeds have jelly-like texture, the longer you soak, the more plump chia seeds you get.

I used almond milk, and added jaggery for sweetness. Jaggery helps to keep you warm during winter. So, why not? You can use honey or maple syrup.
And toppings can basically be anything of your choice. So much customisation can be done. Berries, banana, chocolate chunks, pineapple slices, toasted cashews, almonds. Really, can be anything!
I used berries, coconut shavings, and almonds.
Cook oats as per the instruction in the packet. Add pinch of salt, cinnamon, milk. Mix chia seeds in.

Drizzle jaggery syrup, and top the bowl with berries and nuts.
